RoboCop Detroit T-Shirt

This Detroit design comes from RoboCop, the 1987 film about a murdered Detroit cop rebuilt as corporate property, sold as an action movie and delivered as satire. Omni Consumer Products owns the Detroit police department outright, which is the joke the entire film is built on. The satire is delivered through fake commercials and news segments cut into the story, advertising things like the 6000 SUX and a board game called Nukem. ED-209 is stop-motion animation, and its failure to walk down stairs is one of the most quoted machine malfunctions in cinema. The twenty seconds to comply scene was cut repeatedly to secure an R rating rather than an X.

Omni Consumer Products, OCP, owns the Detroit police force in the film, and its octagonal logo is the most reproduced piece of design from the whole franchise.
