Platoon Shadow of War T-Shirt

This Shadow of War design comes from Platoon, Oliver Stone's 1986 Vietnam film — written out of his own service and built around a squad at war with itself as much as with anyone else. Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings runs through it, and the pairing is now so fixed that the piece is difficult to hear without picturing the film.

Stone had been carrying the script since the 1970s. Studios repeatedly turned it down on the grounds that nobody wanted to watch a film about Vietnam.
