Miles Davis Birth of the Cool Youth Hoodie

This Birth of the Cool design comes from Miles Davis, the trumpeter who reinvented jazz roughly every five years and never once looked back to check whether anyone had followed him. Almost nobody changes their own genre once. Davis did it repeatedly — bebop, then the cool sessions, then hard bop, then the modal playing of Kind of Blue, then the electric fusion of Bitches Brew, then again in the 1980s.

The Birth of the Cool sessions ran from 1949 to 1950 with a nine-piece band and Gil Evans arrangements, and effectively invented an entire school of jazz before anyone had named it. This one is printed on a black youth hoodie in sizes Youth S through Youth XL. Officially licensed and printed on heavyweight cotton, built to outlast the vinyl.
