Dubble Bubble Mega Mouth Youth/Toddler T-Shirt

This Mega Mouth design comes from Dubble Bubble, the gum that got its pink colour because it was the only food dye the factory had on hand. Fleer had been trying since 1906. An earlier attempt called Blibber-Blubber made bubbles but was too sticky to get off a face without turpentine. The pink is an accident. Pink was the only food colouring in the factory when he mixed the first successful batch, and the colour stuck to bubble gum as a category ever after.

Dubble Bubble was invented in 1928 by an accountant, Walter Diemer. The wrapper comic, the Fleer Funnies, starred a character called Pud. This one is printed on a charcoal youth t-shirt in sizes Youth S through Toddler 3T.
