This Guitar Christmas Tree design is for Christmas, the holiday that absorbed every custom it ever met and kept going. The Christmas tree came out of German custom and reached the English-speaking world in the nineteenth century, helped enormously by a published illustration of Victoria and Albert standing round one. Rudolph was written in 1939 as a giveaway booklet for the Montgomery Ward department store, which is why the ninth reindeer is younger than the other eight by more than a century.
A Visit from St Nicholas gave Santa his sleigh and reindeer in 1823. Puritan authorities banned Christmas observance in the 1600s. This one is printed on a kelly green unisex t-shirt in sizes S through 4XL.
