This Bowtie Burnout design comes from Chevrolet, the marque that put the bowtie on more American driveways than any other. The Corvette began in 1953 as a show car with a fibreglass body, a shape chosen partly because steel tooling for a low-volume car could not be justified. Durant, who had been forced out of the company he built, General Motors, and used Chevrolet to buy his way back in.
