This I Want Candy design comes from Candy Land, the colour-matching race to the Candy Castle that has been many children's first board game since 1949. Players race along a rainbow path past landmarks such as the Gumdrop Mountains, the Peppermint Forest and the Molasses Swamp to reach the Candy Castle. Candy Land was designed by Eleanor Abbott, a San Diego schoolteacher, while she was recovering from polio, and it was first published by Milton Bradley in 1949.
