Betty Boop All American Girl Pin Up Youth/Toddler T-Shirt

This All American Girl Pin Up design comes from Betty Boop, the Jazz Age cartoon star who has outlived nearly every character she shared a screen with. The Hays Code caught up with the series in 1934 and the studio was made to lengthen her hemline and tone the shorts down; fans have argued ever since that it took the life out of them. She did not start out human. The original character was drawn as an anthropomorphic dog, and across the next two years the floppy ears were redrawn into hoop earrings and the snout into a button nose.

Betty Boop debuted in 1930 in the short Dizzy Dishes. Cab Calloway was rotoscoped into several of the cartoons. This one is printed on a light blue youth t-shirt in sizes Youth S through Toddler 4T.
