Betty Boop With the Band Crewneck Sweatshirt

This With the Band design comes from Betty Boop, the Jazz Age cartoon star who has outlived nearly every character she shared a screen with. The singer Helen Kane sued over the character in 1932, claiming it copied her boop-oop-a-doop delivery. She lost in 1934 after the defence produced evidence that the scat style predated her, including performances by Baby Esther Jones. She returned in black and white for a cameo in Who Framed Roger Rabbit in 1988, playing a star whose era had passed.

Betty Boop debuted in 1930 in the short Dizzy Dishes. She was originally drawn as a dog, and her ears became her hoop earrings. This one is printed on a black unisex sweatshirt in sizes S through 3XL.
