Betty Boop Cupcake Pullover Hoodie

This Cupcake design comes from Betty Boop, the Jazz Age cartoon star who has outlived nearly every character she shared a screen with. Max Fleischer patented the rotoscope in 1915, and the studio used it to put live performance into animation decades before anyone called it motion capture. The Hays Code caught up with the series in 1934 and the studio was made to lengthen her hemline and tone the shorts down; fans have argued ever since that it took the life out of them.

Cab Calloway was rotoscoped into several of the cartoons. She was originally drawn as a dog, and her ears became her hoop earrings. This one is printed on a pink unisex sweatshirt in sizes S through 3XL.
