Betty Boop Sweet and Sassy Creeper

This Sweet and Sassy design comes from Betty Boop, the Jazz Age cartoon star who has outlived nearly every character she shared a screen with. Cab Calloway performed for several shorts and was rotoscoped into them, so the ghost and the walrus in Minnie the Moocher and Snow-White move with his actual dance steps. The Hays Code caught up with the series in 1934 and the studio was made to lengthen her hemline and tone the shorts down; fans have argued ever since that it took the life out of them.

Betty Boop debuted in 1930 in the short Dizzy Dishes. She was originally drawn as a dog, and her ears became her hoop earrings. This one is printed on a pink youth t-shirt in sizes Infant 6M through Infant 24M.
