This Centipede Swat Team design comes from Atari, the company that turned the arcade into a living room. Atari was founded in 1972 by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney, and its first hit, Pong, was a prototype left in a Sunnyvale bar that broke down because the coin box was too full. The Video Computer System of 1977, later renamed the 2600, established the idea that a console is a platform and the games are interchangeable cartridges.
