This Hot or Cold design comes from Arrow, the CW series that put a billionaire with a bow on network television and accidentally built a shared universe. The show gave DC its first successful modern television foothold, and what started as one series turned into a shared universe: The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman all grew out of it, with annual crossovers between them. Arrow premiered on The CW in 2012 and ran eight seasons, developed by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg. It takes Green Arrow, a second-tier DC character who had never carried a series, and plays him completely straight.

Mirakuru is the serum introduced in season two, and the Deathstroke arc built around it is generally considered the best stretch the show ever ran.
