This Deathstroke design comes from Arrow, the CW series that put a billionaire with a bow on network television and accidentally built a shared universe. Felicity Smoak began as a one-scene IT technician and became a lead, which is a rare thing for a character invented as a plot convenience and a large part of why the show worked. Star City, originally Starling City, is the setting, and Queen Consolidated is the family company Oliver inherits and keeps failing to run while he is out at night being a vigilante.

Felicity Smoak was written for a single scene as an IT technician and was promoted to the main cast after the response to it. Stephen Amell did a large share of his own stunt work, including the salmon ladder, a piece of gym equipment the show made genuinely famous.
