This Beware the Hood design comes from Arrow, the CW series that put a billionaire with a bow on network television and accidentally built a shared universe. Arrow premiered on The CW in 2012 and ran eight seasons, developed by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg. It takes Green Arrow, a second-tier DC character who had never carried a series, and plays him completely straight. The show gave DC its first successful modern television foothold, and what started as one series turned into a shared universe: The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman all grew out of it, with annual crossovers between them.
