It has been more than 45 years since Jaws was first released in theaters but this film still scares anyone who watches it. The story begins on Amity Island where a young lady named Chrissie Watkins went skinny dipping in the ocean during a beach party. The following day, her body was found on the shore but the medic’s concluded that she died due to a shark attack which led to the closing of the beaches in the area. But the mayor insisted on reversing the decision because of the fear that the town’s economy would suffer. But another boy was killed due to a shark attack again and this prompted the officials to put a bounty on the shark for $10,000.
Did you know that the production started filming in early May 1974? Even though the film was set in midsummer, it was set in May to avoid an actors’ strike. In fact, if you look closely in the background of some scenes, you will notice trees with no leaves.
