It has been more than 45 years since Jaws was first released in theaters but this film still scares anyone who watches it. The story begins on Amity Island where a young lady named Chrissie Watkins went skinny dipping in the ocean during a beach party. The following day, her body was found on the shore but the medic’s concluded that she died due to a shark attack which led to the closing of the beaches in the area. But the mayor insisted on reversing the decision because of the fear that the town’s economy would suffer. But another boy was killed due to a shark attack again and this prompted the officials to put a bounty on the shark for $10,000.
Did you know that Richard Dreyfuss who played the marine biologist in the film wasn’t the top choice to play Hopper? The film’s director, Steven Spielberg approached Jon Voight, Timothy Bottoms, and Jeff Bridges to play the character of Matt Hooper. But none of them could commit to the role so Spielberg approached his dear friend George Lucas and the latter suggested Richard Dreyfuss.
