Happy Days
Garry Marshall's Happy Days ran on ABC for 11 seasons, from January 15, 1974 to 1984, set in 1950s Milwaukee. Henry Winkler's Fonzie started as a side character and became the star, and his leather jacket now belongs to the Smithsonian. A 1977 episode in which he water-skis over a shark gave television the phrase jumping the shark.
