Tom and Jerry

William Hanna and Joseph Barbera introduced the cat and mouse in the 1940 MGM short Puss Gets the Boot. Their Tom and Jerry cartoons went on to win seven Academy Awards for Best Animated Short. The pair returned to theaters in 2021 in a film that mixed animation with live action.
