Super Soaker
The Super Soaker was invented by a NASA engineer. Lonnie Johnson was working on a heat pump that used water instead of freon when he tested a nozzle in his bathroom and shot a jet clean across the room. He spent seven years trying to get it made.
It reached shelves in 1990 and became the best-selling toy in America, and the pressurised tank on top is the reason every water fight after 1990 was an arms race rather than a squirt.
Shop officially licensed Super Soaker t-shirts featuring the original blaster diagrams, the 90s logo and the Soak 'Em All artwork. Plus sizes run up to 5XL on the core colours - black, navy, charcoal, white, red and athletic grey. The more unusual the colourway, the shallower the size run the vendor stocks.
