Twister

Twister has been putting people on the floor in awkward positions since 1966. Four rows of coloured dots, a spinner divided into quarters, and no equipment beyond the players themselves — it is one of the very few games where the board is the floor and the pieces are people. Milton Bradley very nearly lost it: Sears refused to stock it and rivals called it indecent, until Eva Gabor played a round with Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show in May 1966 and three million copies sold the following year. It entered the National Toy Hall of Fame in 2015.
