Muhammad Ali

Muhammad Ali was an American professional boxer and cultural icon, widely considered one of the greatest boxers of all time. He was born on January 17, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky, and died on June 3, 2016, in Phoenix, Arizona. Ali won the world heavyweight championship three times, and his colorful personality and political activism made him one of the most famous and recognizable figures of the 20th century.

Muhammad Ali was known for his political activism, particularly his opposition to the Vietnam War and support for African American rights. He famously refused to be drafted into the military on religious and political grounds, leading to his arrest and eventual Supreme Court victory. Ali was a member of the Nation of Islam and later converted to Sunni Islam, which influenced his political beliefs and activism.

Ali was widely beloved for his charisma and showmanship, and his legacy has had a lasting impact on the sport of boxing and American culture more broadly.
