Back to the future is a 1985 American science fiction film created by Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis. The story revolves around the life of a teenager named Marty McFly who was accidentally sent back to 1995 through a time-traveling DeLorean automobile built by his scientist friend Doc Emmett Brown. Since he was trapped in the past, Marty accidentally prevents his future parent’s meeting, thus threatening his very existence.
Did you know that the time machine wasn’t going to be a DeLorean or even a car but instead a time chamber room where Marty would go into and dash back in time? They thought of a 1950s-style refrigerator where Marty would climb into and the refrigerator would travel back in time. However, Zemeckis and Spielberg rejected this idea fearing that children would climb into refrigerators and become trapped inside. Zemeckis then came with the idea of using a car as a time machine that could be mobile and it would have more exciting scenes.
