The Wizard of Oz Size 7 Youth Hoodie

This Size 7 design comes from The Wizard of Oz, the 1939 film that almost nobody saw as a hit and that television then turned into the most watched movie ever made. The ruby slippers were silver in the novel. MGM changed them to red specifically because red would show off Technicolor, which is how a costume decision became the single most recognisable prop in film history. Nearly ninety years on the imagery needs no caption: slippers, a yellow road, an emerald skyline, a green face. That is why it prints so well and why it keeps selling.

The transition from sepia Kansas to colour Oz was a technical showpiece, and the Technicolor lighting made the set brutally hot to work in.
