The Venture Bros. License to Kill Womens T-Shirt

This License to Kill design comes from The Venture Bros., the Adult Swim series that started as a Jonny Quest parody and turned into a seventeen-year study of failure. The Venture Bros. premiered on Adult Swim in 2004, created by Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer. It opens as a straight parody of Jonny Quest — boy adventurers, a super-scientist father, a bodyguard — and then spends every subsequent season asking what that life would actually do to the people living it. It ran seven seasons across seventeen years and was cancelled before its final arc, then finished in 2023 with a feature-length film, Radiant Is the Blood of the Baboon Heart, which is a very Venture Bros. way to end.

After cancellation the story was finished as a 2023 film, which is a rare second chance for a show that had spent its whole run being about not getting one. The series began as a direct parody of Jonny Quest and kept the visual grammar of sixties adventure animation even as the writing drifted somewhere much stranger.
