The Smurfs I Love Smurfette T-Shirt

This I Love Smurfette design comes from The Smurfs, the small blue villagers Belgian cartoonist Peyo invented in 1958 and who have since survived comics, Saturday mornings and several feature films. Visually they could not be simpler: a blue body, a white cap, three apples tall. That simplicity is exactly why the designs survive being printed flat at any size.

The original French name, Schtroumpf, was a nonsense word Peyo blurted out when he could not think of the word for salt while eating with a fellow cartoonist.
