Description
This What Are You Looking At design comes from Taxi, the sitcom that put a handful of people who wanted to be doing anything else in the same garage five nights a week. It won eighteen Emmy Awards including three for Outstanding Comedy Series, and the garage set, the yellow Checker cabs and the dispatch cage have stayed recognisable for decades after the show went off the air. Andy Kaufman played Latka Gravas, a mechanic from an unnamed country, built out of the Foreign Man character Kaufman had been performing in clubs. His contract famously also required appearances by his lounge-singer alter ego.
Reverend Jim was written as a one-episode character. Christopher Lloyd made him a regular, and the driving test scene where Jim asks what a yellow light means is still one of the most replayed sitcom scenes ever shot. The Sunshine Cab Company is fictional, but the cabs are real Checker Marathons, the standard New York taxi of the era. This one is printed on a military green unisex sweatshirt in sizes S through 3XL. Officially licensed and printed on heavyweight cotton.
