Description

TRV-SUN149-YT-1

This Memphis Sunburst design comes from Sun Records, the small Memphis studio at 706 Union Avenue where Sam Phillips recorded Elvis, Cash, Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis and more or less started rock and roll. Sam Phillips opened Sun Records in Memphis in 1952 in a storefront studio barely bigger than a living room. Within four years he had recorded Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison — a run no label has matched since.

Sam Phillips sold Elvis Presley's contract to RCA in 1955 for thirty-five thousand dollars — a sum that looked enormous at the time and financed the rest of the Sun roster. This one is printed on a gold youth t-shirt in sizes Youth S through Youth XL. Sizes run deep, with plus sizes and Tall fits on the core tee.

Features:

  • Gold Youth T-Shirt
  • 100% cotton
  • Front print
