Description
This Eye of the Storm design comes from Star Trek: The Original Series, the 1966 show NBC cancelled after three seasons and syndication turned into a religion. Leonard Nimoy adapted the Vulcan salute from a Jewish priestly blessing he had seen as a child in synagogue. He improvised it on set because the script simply said the Vulcans greet each other. Nichelle Nichols planned to quit after the first season until Martin Luther King Jr. told her that a Black woman on the bridge of a starship was worth staying for. She stayed, and spent years afterward recruiting astronauts for NASA, among them Sally Ride and Guion Bluford.
Tribbles were built in a weekend from fake fur and simple motors, and the episode was written by David Gerrold when he was 23. NBC cancelled it after three seasons and 79 episodes. Syndication made it a phenomenon afterward. This one is printed on a black youth t-shirt in sizes Youth S through Toddler 3T. Grab it for yourself or for the friend who still argues about the Kobayashi Maru.
