Description
This Vandelay Industries design comes from Seinfeld, the NBC series that spent nine seasons proving a sitcom about nothing could be about almost everything. Jerry Seinfeld plays a version of himself. Jason Alexander plays George Costanza, written largely out of Larry David. Julia Louis-Dreyfus plays Elaine Benes, who was not in the pilot at all and was added when the network wanted a woman in the cast. Michael Richards plays Kramer, based on a real neighbour of Larry David named Kenny Kramer. Festivus came from the family of writer Dan O Keefe, whose father actually celebrated it. The aluminium pole, the Feats of Strength and the Airing of Grievances left the show and became a real December tradition for a lot of people, which was never the plan.
Vandelay Industries is the fake latex company George invents to stay on unemployment, and it has been getting people through job interviews as a joke ever since. The pilot was called The Seinfeld Chronicles and Elaine was not in it. NBC ordered only four more episodes, the smallest follow-up order in the modern history of the network. This one is printed on a navy unisex sweatshirt in sizes S through 3XL. A solid pick for anyone who has ever answered a real question with a line from this show.
