1924. Harold Lloyd plays a stammering tailor's apprentice who cannot speak to women and therefore writes a book instructing other men how to. It ends in a chase that runs something like a fifth of the film, Lloyd commandeering a trolley, a horse, a motorcycle and eventually a fire truck to stop a wedding, shot in real Los Angeles traffic with the camera crew hidden.
Lloyd tested his comedies obsessively with preview audiences and recut them on the results, which is why the pacing still works. It was among the highest grossing films of its year, and across the 1920s he out earned both Chaplin and Keaton at the box office. This is the Swedish release sheet, printed as Akta er for flickor, roughly watch out for girls, a farce in eight acts.
