Pathe, 1924. The American insert for Harold Lloyd's Girl Shy, which solves the problem of a very tall narrow poster by simply filling it with women, thirteen of them, arranged around Lloyd's face and those glasses. The glasses were not a gag prop but a deliberate character decision: Lloyd had spent years as a Chaplin imitator and invented the ordinary bespectacled young man to escape it.
Billed without modesty as the crowning achievement in comedy mirth. Insert format sheets like this were printed for lobby frames rather than billboards, which is why the proportions are so extreme. Printed by Morgan Litho, the same house that produced the Safety Last sheet.
As part of our plus size t shirts and everyday graphic tee lineup, this vintage poster design puts real film history on your chest without sacrificing comfort. Available up to 5XL in the adult tee, plus youth and toddler sizes, a juniors v-neck and a hoodie.
