This Atari Logo design comes from Atari, the company that turned the arcade into a living room. Warner Communications bought the company in 1976 and the value of that purchase collapsed within a decade, taking much of the American games industry with it. Atari was founded in 1972 by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney, and its first hit, Pong, was a prototype left in a Sunnyvale bar that broke down because the coin box was too full.
