Back to the future is a 1985 American science fiction film created by Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis. The story revolves around the life of a teenager named Marty McFly who was accidentally sent back to 1995 through a time-traveling DeLorean automobile built by his scientist friend Doc Emmett Brown. Since he was trapped in the past, Marty accidentally prevents his future parent’s meeting, thus threatening his very existence.
Did you know that the movie script was rejected many times by Columbia Pictures? The production company commissioned both Zemeckis and Gale to write a screenplay but Columbia rejected it. But when Zemeckis and Gale showed the script to their great friend Steven Spielberg, the latter loved it and said, “It was a very unusual story but based on old-fashioned principles like family and coming of age and dreams and desires and the generation gap. It was really terrific.”
