Did you know that Frodo was supposed to murder Gollum? In the Return of the King, Frodo and Gollum had a final confrontation. The scene was going to end with Frodo pushing Gollum off the ledge but the writers including Johnson felt like it was very un-Tolkien. So they decided to revise the scene and re-shot it.
