I mentioned before that I loved this movie in spite of myself. Maybe it's just John Cusack. I think Better Off Dead and Grosse Point Blank are two of my favorite movies, but I really think he makes it happen. As proof check out this list of Better Off Dead quotes. Honestly, not that classic, until you get him saying them in his amazing deadpan.
I found a Kodiak Valley Facebook page with all of 87 fans. I guess it's not official, which makes me a bigger fan of it. Do me a favor and become a fan, as I like the indy stuff more.
I've always been more a fan of snowboarding than skiing, and I seriously remember hating the ski club back in high school in the 80's. It was like all the cool, smart, fun, well off, popular kids who were not the real jocks and they all more or less ignored me droving me crazy. Unlike the jocks and surfers, it was all the kids I wished were my friends. Of course, at the time I was more or less hitch hiking to school every day because my dad was unwilling to spend $30 a semester for a bus pass so even if they were willing to be my friends I wouldn't have been able to afford to hang with them anyway. Bastards. Naturally the girl I spent three an a half years madly in love with (who ignored me completely) was in the ski club.
Anyway, enough bitter high school memories. Now I snowboard, which is really me falling down the mountain, but I enjoy it. Here is a video of four idiots crashing on snowboards trying to grind the same rail. Normally one of the four would be able to do it successfully. Blind leading the blind, I guess. The best part is the camera guy laughing his ass off at all of them. I found a list of snowboard video crashes, but I guess they have a different definition of what "funny video" means, as the first one I watched showed some guy getting hit by a truck while trying to jump a road. I don't want to see that. I'm not about seeing people get seriously hurt.
Anyway, I read back and realize this whole shirt description is kind of a bummer, and I apologize for it. I guess the whole ski club thing hit me harder than I thought. Next one will be more upbeat, I promise.
