If you are going to put up a list of one of the best and most iconic TV shows of all time, it would be impossible not to include Friends on the list. This TV show made tens of millions of Americans watch all of the season for 10 years. Friends debuted in the fall of 1994 and it ran for an entire decade and was watched by around 35 million viewers per week. And decades after its premiere, Friends continues to have a huge fan base all over the world.
Did you know that when Friends Co-creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman wrote a seven-page pitch for a new sitcom, they titled it Insomnia Cafe? But after NBC bought the pilot, the title was changed to Friends Like Us. In fact, NBC President, Warren Littlefield, came up with another title “Across the Hall” but they switched the title again to “Six of One”. But when the show premiered in 1994, they decided to finally title it to “Friends”.
