Stevie Ray Vaughan

The late great Stevie Ray Vaughan is best known for his contributions to blues music in the eighties. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Stevie Ray Vaughan grew up playing the guitar, and eventually, he began performing with other musicians like Marc Benno and Denny Freeman. Vaughan even created his own group, called Triple Threat Revue, with Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon. In 1983, Stevie Ray Vaughan released his first album entitled Texas Flood. The album only featured ten songs, and it quickly rose to number 38 on the charts. Stevie Ray Vaughan also performed on tour with musicians like jEff Beck and Joe Crocker. In 1990, Vaughan suffered a tragic death from a helicopter crash. At 35 years old, many fans hailed him for his fresh talent as a blues guitarist over the years. He was also known for being the Blues Instrumentalist of the Year by the Blues Foundation in 1984. Over the years, Stevie Ray Vaughan was awarded six Grammy Awards and ten Austin Music Awards. In 2000, Vaughan was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, and later the Musicians Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
