Ant-Man is a superhero character appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics and is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the comics, Ant-Man was originally scientist Henry "Hank" Pym who discovered a substance that allowed him to shrink to the size of an ant while retaining his normal strength. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ant-Man was portrayed by Paul Rudd in the titular 2015 movie and its 2018 sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp. The movie follows the character of Scott Lang, a former thief who becomes the new Ant-Man after being trained by Hank Pym. The film explores Lang's use of his shrinking and enlarging powers to pull off a heist and become a hero. The Ant-Man movie was well received by audiences and received praise for its humor, action, and the performance of Paul Rudd. The character has since become a fan-favorite and has appeared in several other Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, including Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
