Piggly Wiggly
Piggly Wiggly was founded in 1916 in Memphis TN and was the first full service supermarket in the world. It is now a chain of 530 stores in 17 states and is well know of it's iconic Piggly Wiggly logo, Mr. Pig. They were the very first to introduce self service shopping for customers (prior to that customers would give lists to clerks to fill). They also invented checkout counters and shopping carts if you can believe it. They were also the first to price mark all products in the store. Amazing.
Today Piggly Wiggly is a beloved icon for many small towns in the South and Midwest. We count ourselves lucky that we found great t-shirts, hats, and aprons that are officially licensed and help celebrate an American success story. Get your Pig On!
