Joseph Stalin was born with the name Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili.  He eventually changed his name to Stalin, which means "steel" in Russian.  Good choice.  He was not a nice man, and after he died most of his actions were denounced by his successors.  I found a bunch of Stalin quotes and I think my favorite is "The Pope? How many divisions has he got?"  What a charmer.  Apparently he ordered his scientists to create ape men by crossing human and apes in experiments that are best left to the imagination.  He also reportedly liked to draw pictures of nude men.  I think his life and the whole world's might have been better had he come out of the closet (assuming he was actually gay, of course).  

Oddly enough, in now free Lithuania they have created a Stalin themed amusement park, complete with replica gulag.  Life is strange.
