This was a great show, but the humor element as a cultural phenomenon has made it even greater. Check out this (uncensored) clip of Thundercats bloopers. Funny stuff.

There is a Thundercats movie in development for 2012, the same year the world is supposed to end. I think it would be pretty tragic if the world blew up and the last thing you saw was this movie, but I'm pretty sure that's how it's going to go for me. If you are one of those who does believe it will end on 12/21/12 (why is it all conspiracy nuts are sure something is going to happen on days that have coincidental numbers? Remember when everyone thought the world was going to end on 06/06/06 because it was 666? My birthday a couple years ago was on 08/08/08 and guess what magical or tragic thing happened? Nothing) you can check out this doomsday website. Looks pretty half assed to me. Also, if you are sure the world is going to end in a couple years why are you trying to make money selling t-shirts? Shouldn't you just be giving them away at the end of times?

Anyway, back to the Thundercats. When you think about it, Lion-O is a pretty stupid name for a Thundercat. It's on par with a human being named Man-O or Human-O (or worse, by a specific racial type, since each name seems to refer to an individual cat race). Most of the names suck from that perspective. Panthro, Tygra, Cheetara, Willykit, and Willykat all suck, name-wise. In fact, Snarf is the only name that doesn't blow, although Jaga in not too bad (Jaguar, I guess, but different enough to be kind of cool).

Also, does it bother anyone else that as a boy Lion-O had a pet sabertooth dog (name Kano.  Lame-O)? What ever happened to dogs and cats hating each other. Did years and years of Tom and Jerry cartoons lie to me?

Of course, I cannot talk about Thundercats without mentioning the uber hot Cheetara. What is the deal with cat themed super-babes? Cheetara and Cat Woman obviously top that list, but you can't go to a Halloween party without seeing a couple.
