This movie was awesome. There are avid fans, as this site
www.crowfans.com will illustrate. Revenge stories are always good. Also at the time the movie came out I was living in a cheap loft in a really bad part of downtown LA. The neighborhood had a bunch of rundown warehouse, drainage ditches, and an abandoned train station. Most of the outside scenes for the Crow were shot within about 6 blocks of my apartment, which was kind of cool. When you live in an area like that you almost always have some story about an ethnic restaurant in your neighborhood that is the best __________ food possible, but that never happened for me. The food there sucked. The best food I could hope for was the
roach coach that showed up for lunch at the warehouse across the street. Another thing that is supposed to happen when you live in a crappy area is you meet a really cool philosopher/homeless person who teaches you something about appreciating life or whatever, but that never happened either. The homeless people in that neighborhood were all creepy and insane. Most interesting conversation I had was with a guy who had a
ZZ Top beard that looked like it hadn't been washed in his lifetime telling me about how he was in hiding from Satan. I believe his exact quote was "He's a fun guy, but you don't want to get on his bad side!" This sounds cooler and less creepy as a story than it was at the time. This guy had the crazy eye.
