This is actually the Italian movie poster, which I think is much cooler than any of the American ones. This movie was terrifying in 1974 but by the time I saw it in the late 80's it was almost comical. Now it is pretty much a joke, but still entertaining. Check out the
trailer. The funneist part is the movie starts off claiming to be based on true events, but it was in fact entirely fictional.
Looks like this movie has a pretty active fan club base. Here is the
Texas Chainsaw Massacre fan club site, that looks pretty well developed. I like fan sites that have dedicated URLs. Makes me think it is done by a more dedicated fan.
Apparently in 1983 Atari came out with a Texas Chainsaw video game that was more or less banned for it's "graphic violence" and "gory" content (how gory can you get in 8 bit, really?). I found the
best video game review ever ever for it by the
Angry Video Game Nerd. Hilarious.
I know I've used this video game clip in another description, but I can't pass the chance to link the
Lego Texas Chainsaw Massacre again. Too appropriate.
