Funny thing is, while TOS was the only thing on there was never any discussion of women in command positions. In fact, I can hardly remember any women actually giving any orders on board Kirk's Enterprise.
Thankfully we live in a more enlightened time, and women can now assume command of a ship in Star Fleet. Of course, we can't talk about female command officers without doing something on Capt. Janeway. Here is a tribute to Capt. Janeway done by some guy who most likely has some mother issues.
By the way, I just tried to find something funny on mother issues, but all the videos I found were more sad than funny.
Anyway, I found a video by a guy who uses chimpanzee behavior to claim that if more women were in charge we would have less wars. Not sure if I agree with that or not. Granted, women don't have the testosterone drive to beat on each other, but I have seen women treat each other more viciously than guys ever have. A guy will beat the hell out of another guy and then walk away. I've seen women dedicate their lives to destroying people. It's frightening. On the average I think it would probably be a good thing if more women were in charge, but like anyone else I am sure there are violent females as well as non violent males.
Personally, I have a theory that we would have a lot less violence in the world if everyone were required to participate in paint ball about once a month. You know, get the aggressions out. I love it when I go. Of course, I could never talk about something like paintball without taking the opportunity to show you some guy getting shot in the nuts with a paintball. That one is pretty good, but this one of some idiot shooting himself in the nuts is amazing.
Wow. Turns out there are dozens of videos of guys getting shot in the nuts with paintball or airsoft. The weirdest ones are when they do it on purpose. I guess they all think they are tougher than they really are. Maybe women should be in charge. |
