Who doesn't love
Redd Foxx? What a great character.
Like all great American television,
Sanford and Son was copied from a
BBS show called
Steptoe and Son.
I know I have said there is pretty much a band named after anything in pop culture, but even I was surprised to learn that there is a "band" called
Sanford and Son. It sounds like they take
sound bites from the show and put them to a funk beat. Seems like a lot of work for not much return to be honest.
I really enjoyed this show, but white guilt prevents me from making any fun of it or linking anything embarrassing. I thought instead to try to find something interesting on white guilt, but before I could find an article or whatever I stumbled across one of the
strangest rock videos I have ever seen. Basically a
homeless Santa and
Easter Bunny team up with
Dracula and a genie to beat the crap out of an impostor Santa and Easter Bunny in Venice in this video
White Guilt by
The Bronx. Really bizarre.
When I allow myself to indulge in a little fantasy about this business actually growing and becoming profitable I sometimes think about getting a special company vehicle to haul my stuff to trade shows. My two choices always seem to boil down to
the van from the A Team and the
Sanford and Son pickup truck, as seen on this
intro video. Of course I would have to play the theme song for either show the whole time while driving it.
