This shirt is so cool it almost doesn't even need a description. However, I hate leaving things undone. Also, this should be a pretty good one.

This game, it it's barest form (rock-paper-scissors only) I have also known as rochambeau. I think that's French. The game supposedly dates back to the Han Dynasty (206 BC) so I guess it has had a lot of names. In high school we used to play it and the winner got to dead finger the loser (I looked hard for a listing on how to do the dead finger as we used to do it, but all I found were bad bands and sensation tricks. The dead finger was a way of loosening up your middle finger and then whipping someone with it in an excruciating manner. Very painful).

Wow. I have found some bizarre stuff while doing these descriptions, but this might be the epitome. Apparently there is a World Rock Paper Scissor Society that organizes competitions(?), sells RPS artwork(??), and teaches RPS techniques(???!). It looks like an competitor ticket costs $25, while a spectator ticket is $15. I could try to make a joke about this, but I think it would be both inadequate and redundant.

I probably shouldn't laugh too much. Looks like first place pays $7,000. That's a lot of t-shirts.

Of course, this shirt is not merely Rock Paper Scissors but rather Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock. The instructions are pretty clear on the shirt, but in case you want to see it explained succinctly check out this video clip from the Big Bang Theory. The problem with this game for me is I would have a hard time choosing anything that could beat Spock, as in my mind he is unbeatable.

The real problem I have with this is the idea that lizard poisons Spock. The fact is there are only two poisonous lizards in the world and both live in North America. Given that there are approximately 5,000 species of lizards in the world the odds of a lizard biting Spock being poisonous is about 0.02%. That does not even account for the odds of a lizard actually being able to bite Spock, who is of course very quick and about a million times smarter than any lizard (except for maybe a Gorn. Maybe).

The Lizard Spock variant was invented in 1998 by Samuel Kass in order to reduce the 75-80% chance of duplicating results that the traditional game gives. Of course, you could avoid that by playing rochambuea South Park style style. Kind of cuts down on duplicate results.

I couldn't find a video clip, but my favorite use of Rock Paper Scissors will always be in the movie Tremors.
