I admit I picked up this shirt just because it fit in too well to the Fantasy Logo category to pass up, but when it arrived I thought about the movie and remembered actually liking it quite a bit.  Something about a guy who comes to town and kicks the crap out of a bunch of local hillbillies appeals to me.  Also John Doe from the band X is in this movie.  If you haven't listened to X I highly recommend them.

Also, the scene where Patrick Swayze stitches up his own arm is pretty bad ass.  A few years after this movie came out I watched a Black Flys video where a couple of skateboarders do the "Home Surgery Network."  I couldn't find the video, but the quote I remember was "If you get a gash on your arm, f*** paying some doctor $200 to put some stitches in. If you have a strong needle and some dental floss, do it yourself!"   These skateboarders then went and did it.

Black Flys is a bit of a rough category for me.  The are a sunglasses company and used to be hugely popular in Southern California.  I managed to make it through high school and most of college without falling into the classic nerd trap of wishing to be part of a "cool crowd," but the Black Flys guys were friends of some of my friends and also ran a company store wherein they hired some of the hottest girls I have ever dealt with.  I found myself floundering in the overwhelming desire to be part of their party.  I was definitely the awkward nerd who hangs out but never gets any kind of recognition.  Eventually I moved from the area, bought a pair of Spy Sunglasses, and never looked back.  I have no doubt most of them are now homeless drug addicts.  

By the way, if you are looking for sunglasses, check out my good friends at Black Diamond Sports, but know that I have worked in sporting goods before t shirts for a long time and the vast majority of people in the sunglasses industry are huge jerks.
