This was, of course, my first exposure to movie making great Quentin Tarentino and I loved it. I was at the time in art school and doing a piece that the feminist regime of my school accusingly called a celebration of masculinity. However, a lot of the people outside of that crowd liked it and I decided to pursue it more. A friend of mine on the faculty recommended some movies that were considered the "
ultimate guy movies" and this one was one of them. To this day I still love it. Even the
trailer rocks.
In a move that is either a brilliant or really stupid marketing move, the
Reservoir Dogs is also a running club in Central Park in NYC. Given that, except for the waitress, there were no women at all in this move it would imply that this is a mens club, but apparently they let anyone who wants to run in.
According to this
article on Everything Tarentino, Quentin originally wrote the role of Mr. Pink for himself, but I think Steve Buscemi pulled it off. It called for a squeakier guy.
