Ok.
Clowns freak me out. Not as bad as mimes, but pretty bad.
Fear of clowns is known as
coulrophobia, while fear of mimes is supposed to be
metamfiezomaiophobia, but I can't find that word listed on dictionary.com, so it might be made up by somebody. I do find it on a number of sites, but none of them seem official.
Anyway, you can't be a slave to your irrational fears. My best friend has always had a long time fear of zombies (
kinemortophobi, supposedly) and to conquer it he and I would play
Resident Evil all night and watch every zombie movie we could find (
leading to my current love of zombie movies). They still freak him out but he is cool with it.
With that in mind I forced myself to watch this movie (
also Shakes the Clown, Bobcat Goldthwait at his best) to help combat my
coulrophobia. It's worked out pretty well, but they still freak me the hell out.
